Shakeology Recipes

Made with healthy ingredients, Shakeology are perfect for those looking to lose weight and/or reduce food cravings. While these ingredients are ones which are full of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and more they aid in boosting one’s overall health through building a stronger immune system, restoring and building muscles and greatly reducing the amount of food cravings.

To prevent myself with getting bored of the same old flavor, I like to constantly try new Shakeology recipes and flavors. The following are 51 Shakeology recipes that I have found from around the web and bit of trial and error – here the best of the best are divided into three flavors: Chocolate, Tropical Strawberry and Vanilla. While you may not love every single one, there are bound to be some that taste so good.

Shakeology Recipe Tips

If you’re looking for more of a smoothie texture, then feel free to add 1/2 to 1 cup of ice to any of the following recipes or even nonfat plain frozen yogurt for a summery treat. I also always try to have at least two different flavors of Shakeology in my kitchen. That way, I don’t get sick of one flavor for the entire month.

You can also swap out any of the ingredients for something you would enjoy more…that’s what I like to do! (For Example swap out water for Silk Unsweetend Almond or Cashew Milk.) It’s amazing what you can come up with!

Vanilla Shakeology Recipes

The youngest of the Shakeology flavors, this one is perfect for those looking for a more subtle flavor. Vanilla is great for mixing with almost anything, because it doesn’t have a very strong flavor as chocolate or strawberry. It’s also very easy to enjoy plain with some ice for added coolness. The following are my favorite recipes to enjoy the new Vanilla Shakeology – all you need to add to each is one serving of it:

  1. Vanilla Shakeology: 1 cup water, ice optional
  2. Strawberry Vanilla: 1 cup water, 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
  3. Orange Creamsicle: 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup 100% orange juice, ice optional
  4. Vanilla Berry Chiller: 1 cup rice milk, 1 cup frozen wild berry mix
  5. Berry Vanilla Cooler: 1 cup water, 1 cup frozen wild berry mix
  6. Iced Mocha: 1/2 cup cooled brewed coffee, 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk or skim milk, 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa
  7. Chocolate Vanilla: 1 cup skim milk, 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa
  8. Vanilla Almond: 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1 tablespoon natural almond butter, ice optional
  9. Vanilla Latte: 1 cup cooled brewed coffee, 1/2 cup hazelnut milk beverage (or unsweetened almond milk), 1 teaspoon of pure maple syrup
  10. Peaches and Cream: 2/3 cup water, 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, 1 cup frozen sliced peaches

Beachbody on Demand Review

Beachbody on Demand Review: Overview

In a nutshell, Beachbody on Demand is streamable workout programs. It’s Beachbody’s version of Netflix or Hulu. Login on your computer, phone, or tablet, select from a small library of workouts and BAM! You’re working out.

Beachbody on Demand Review: How Does It Work?

Beachbody on Demand is actually an additional benefit to something they’ve offered for years called the “Club Membership.” Beachbody has offered a free membership  option to its site where you can use most of the tools, like the caloric needs calculator or the message boards, or read a host of articles. But it has also had an option to open a “Club Membership” (sometimes called “premium”). Until recently, the benefits of the Club Membership have been:

  • Access to Celebrity Trainer Chat Rooms
  • Meal Planning Wizard
  • 10% Discount on all purchases on

But now we can add to that list:

Now in my opinion, before they added Beachbody on Demand, the best benefit has been the 10% discount. I’ve been a coach for a while and never once have I been in the celebrity trainer chat room. And the meal planning wizard, while better than nothing, is not nearly as good as it could/should be. I’ve had some customers use it but it’s really not a flagship feature for most people.

But getting a 10% discount is always nice, especially if the other features appeal to you. But if you’re ONLY interested in the 10% discount, you’re better off signing up as a coach to get a 25% discount. It’s only $16/month to be a coach, there’s no requirement to coach, and the discount is significantly better (it’s like paying for a discount at Sam’s Club or Costco). So if streaming workouts, chat rooms, and meal planning aren’t appealing to you, but getting a 25% discount is, sign up as a coach.

Beachbody on Demand Review: What Workouts Are Included?

The Member’s Library portion of Beachbody on Demand is launching with the full program of many of the most popular favorites:

Now when I say “Full Program” I’m referring not only to the Base Package of workouts, but the “Bonus Workouts” that many of the programs offer. Like in P90X2, V-Sculpt and X2 Chest + Shoulders + Tris are normally workouts you’d have to purchase separately. But with Beachbody on Demand, they’re included!

Also included are downloadable PDF versions of the Fitness Guides, Calendars, Quick Starts, Fit Tests, and Nutrition Guides that would normally come with the physical products. You really get everything that you normally would get and then some!

Beachbody on Demand Review: “Purchased Programs”

As you see, not every Beachbody fitness program is available to be streamed, which is a bummer if you’ve already purchased it but don’t want to go to the trouble of ripping it to your computer. I’ve got some good news! In the “Purchased Programs” section of Beachbody On Demand, some programs are available to stream if you’re already bought them. And Beachbody says it will continue to add to this portion of the library as well. So if you purchased any of the following, you’ll see them in the Purchased Programs section of Beachbody on Demand:

Beachbody on Demand Review: “News and Noteworthy”

In the “News and Noteworthy” section of Beachbody on Demand, you have the ability to try some of the other programs to see if you’d like to purchase them. So if there have been programs you’re curious about, you can try a workout from them for free. Here are some of the programs available to sample:

Beachbody on Demand Review: The Good, Bad, and Neutral

Beachbody is finally catching up to the 21st century by getting into the streaming game. I have spent countless hours ripping DVDs to my computer so that I could stream them to my AppleTV. This not only makes it quicker for me to get started, but it also ensures that I’ll have these workouts for life since the DVDs get scratched and become unplayable (not much is more frustrating than doing a workout that skips… especially if it skips back and adds time to your workout!!!). So I’m delighted that they’re offering this. But it doesn’t mean I like everything about it. Here are my Beachbody on Demand Review pros, cons, and neutrals.

Beachbody on Demand Review: Pros

  • DISCOUNT: Because Beachbody on Demand is part of the Club Membership, you’ll automatically receive a 10% discount on your future purchases at, including gear, attire, and on supplements like Shakeology, Results and Recovery Formula, and my personal favorite, Energy and Endurance pre-workout formula.
  • PRICE: at $2.99/week, it’s super easy to get started. Plus that’s a little over $150/year… about $30 more than the cost of buying just 1 full program.
  • PORTABILITY: Wherever you have internet, you have these workouts.
  • SHIPPING COST: No cost for shipping. It can cost $2-$15 to have a program shipped. Obviously with streaming, that’s not the case
  • START INSTANTLY: No more waiting for the DVDs intro to recap all the legalese. Sounds like a small thing but trust me, this gets annoying
  • VARIETY: Afraid to buy the DVD of a particular program because you’re not sure if you’ll like it? Yes, Beachbody offers a money-back guarantee, but still, it can be a pain to send them back. With Beachbody on Demand, you can try a whole bunch of them.
  • WAIT TIME: Since access to Beachbody on Demand is instant after having signed up for a Club Membership, no more constantly monitoring UPS tracking codes to see how much longer till your workout arrives!

Beachbody on Demand Review: Cons

  • DOUBLE PURCHASING: What if you already own a particular workout program on DVD and don’t want to or know how to rip it to your computer? You’ll have to “buy it twice” by signing up for Beachbody on Demand so you can stream it, assuming it’s available.
  • RENTING VS. OWNING: With Beachbody on Demand, you’re essentially renting these workouts since it’s a membership. Just like you don’t own the movies you watch on Netflix, you don’t own these either. So if/when you cancel your Club Membership (and thereby canceling access to Beachbody on Demand), well, no more workouts for you. Whereas when you buy a workout program, it is yours to keep forever.
  • VIEWING: Not everyone wants to do their workout in front of their computer or mobile device. And unless you have something like an AppleTV, ChromeCast, or a FireTV Stick, that you can mirror the workouts from your device to your TV, you’re out of luck.

Beachbody on Demand Review: Neutrals

  • MUSIC / CUES: With the DVDs, many of the workout programs have music, instructions, and cues you can choose to have on or off. But with Beachbody on Demand, the only option is to mute it. Maybe not a big deal to most people, but personally, I like to be able to barely hear the trainer while playing my own music.
  • PDFs: While having an electronic version of a manual or nutrition guide is great for some, others would prefer to have something they didn’t have to print off or read on their tablet.

Beachbody on Demand Review: Wrap Up

With the addition of Beachbody on Demand workout streaming, Beachbody has finally made a compelling case for getting the Club Membership. All these years as a coach and until now, I’ve never thought the Club Membership was a very good “product,” especially considering Beachbody makes some of the best fitness products in the industry.

But now? Now I think not only have they dug themselves out of the stone age, but they’ve created a game changer in the process. As you’ve seen from this Beachody on Demand Review, it’s not a perfect situation. But there are certainly more “pros” than “cons.” And most importantly, they’ve made it easier and cheaper to get started with a workout program, giving people more options so they don’t have to pick just one. Let’s face it, not every program works for every person, you have to do what works for you.

And I think Beachbody on Demand will work for most everyone!

How to Save Money and Lose Weight

How to Save Money and Lose Weight

What If I told you that you could save money, save time, and lose weight at the same time? Sounds pretty crazy right? Well the reality is it’s 100% true. It’s so easy you might not even believe it when you read it.

What You Normally Spend on Lunch

If you are like most people, chances are you spend at least $5 on lunch, if you have an apple, a sandwich, and maybe a soda. If you are going out for lunch you probably spend between $10 and $20 on lunch. So what if I told you that you could cut down your lunch costs to $3 a day. What could you do with an extra $7 a day in your pocket? Or an extra $140 in your pocket? You could even replace a Tazo Chai Latte from Starbucks and still save yourself some money!

More Nutrition In Your Body

Lunch time is a critical time of the day to get some good nutrition into your body, yet so many people end up eating junk. You need to replenish your body with healthy food, and at the same time make sure you eat enough to keep you full. You see the main reason people gain weight and fail to lose weight, is their blood sugar levels fluctuate up and down all day long. Not enough sugar, too much sugar. Ever notice that when you have an “awesome” lunch, you get back to your desk and you “crash”. So what do you do? You go to the vending machine and buy a chocolate bar and feel fine for about 20 minutes, and then “crash” again. This is happening because you ate way too many carbohydrates and other sugars at lunch, causing your bodies blood sugar levels to rise, and then rapidly crash.

The Secret, My Secretshakeology-guide-e1448477352510

The secret is Shakeology. Shakeology costs about $3 dollars a day for a full meal that will actually make you more full than anything else you could eat at lunch, and more importantly: It is super healthy for you! Because Shakeology has a really low glycemic index, you will actually feel better after lunch, and will not feel that “crash” effect you do with other meals. You can buy Shakeology in Chocolate, Tropical Strawberry, Caffe Late, and Greenberry. There are even vegan options for the Chocolate and the Tropical Strawberry.

My Challenge To You

Here is my challenge to you. Buy your favorite Shakeology today. Replace your lunch with a shake for one month. Come back here and tell me in the comments how you did! I guarantee you that you will have lost a ton of weight, and more importantly, are feeling healthier and healthier every day. If for some reason you hate it, simply return it for a full refund. There is nothing to lose! You will save money and have more cash to use at the end of the month, you will be skinnier, and you will be healthier! I don’t know what else to tell you folks. If you are on this website, you want to lose weight. This is how.

Cafe Latte Shakeology – New Flavor

cafe-latte-shakeologyEveryone’s heard of the coffee bean, but how many are aware that the red, fleshy fruit that surrounds it is actually a powerful superfood? Café Latte Shakeology now includes Whole Coffee Fruit, an incredible superfood, and has a rich, aromatic café latte flavor. By using the whole fruit, it lowers its carbon footprint while delivering the delightful refreshment found in a cafe cup of joe. It has all the exotic superfood ingredients necessary to deliver a daily dose of dense nutrition. Shakeology is nutrition simplified. It can help to increase healthy energy, reduce cravings, support weight loss, and improve digestion and regularity.*

Cafe Latte Shakeology – A Good Starbucks Alternative?

Let me be clear on this one – Cafe Latte Shakeology does NOT include Caffeine in it (some are rejoicing, some are booing…I can hear you all right now!). BUT, I still believe this is a great Starbucks Alternative.

Caffeine isn’t really the best for us all anyway (see 18 harmful effects of caffeine). By taking the superfood nutrition that comes in each serving of Cafe Latte Shakeology, you are focused more on getting NATURAL energy from phytonutrients (in veggies and plant-based nutrition) to reducing your dependency on caffeine if you use the coffee-flavored inspiration in your morning routine.

Top 5 Best Workout Programs for Men

I’ve decided to go is put together my list of the top 5 best workout programs for men. Can anyone guess what #1 is? You will probably be surprised!

Best Workout Programs for Men

(5) Insanity. Insanity is just that, insane. What is Insanity anyways? It’s a 60 day freakin’ INTENSE cardio program that involves a lot of jump training and intervals. However, the intervals aren’t like normal intervals where you have a short burst of exercise with a decent amount of rest, but rather long bursts of high intensity exercises with very short periods of rest. This is why it is #5 on my best workout programs for men.

(4) Asylum. It’s just a 30 day program, but this time it’s more sports focused and involves some weight training. Yeah, that’s right, us guys love to push weights around, and this program allows you to do SOME of that, but not a lot. It’s enough to help you maintain body mass while chiseling yourself with crazy insane and intense jump rope and jump training. Oh and there are quite a few ladder drills involved as well, so this may take you back to your high school or college sport days, if you took part of them of course. Asylum takes the #4 spot on my best workout programs for men.

(3) P90X2. Beachbody hired some of the best sports science guys to come in and help develop this program with Tony Horton, and it sure does take your athletic performance to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL! P90X2 contains a balance of cardio and resistance training, but it’s very intense and different stuff. A lot of the moves in the program focus on improving core strength, so you do a ton of balance exercises. What’s interesting is that you even do a lot of balance exercises while doing weight lifting, so you’re working a lot of muscles at the same time. After 90 days, your athletic performance should greatly improve! Oh and this isn’t a program for beginners. Make sure you are in great shape before attempting this one!

(2) P90X. P90X is a program that has a balance of cardio and resistance training, similar to P90X2, but not as tough. This is for people who are in OK shape and want to lose some weight and get ripped up. There is some jump training (plyometrics), weight lifting, and yes, (gulp) even some Yoga. Come on guys, you could suck it up for an hour a week, right? Anyways, P90X is an amazing program and in my opinion one of the best workouts for men!

(1) Body Beast. Body Beast is a mass gaining program that involves a LOT of weight training, but also comes with an excellent diet and supplement plan as well. If you don’t get stronger and gain mass after going through 90 days, you didn’t do something right! I ended up gaining about 15 lbs after my first round. This, my friends, is why Body Beast is ranked #1 in my best workout programs for men!

All of these programs ROCK, and I hope you found my list of best workout programs for men helpful. If not, oh well! If you have any questions about any of the programs, feel free to reach out to me at
