The 8th generation of america’s best-known performance car launched in California Thursday night. The all new 2020 Corvette is finally a mid-engine coupe for the first time in vette history and we have listed some of the 2020 chevrolet corvette stingray specs & pricing details below.

The user friendly cockpit was built with the driver in mind, with a long strip of buttons on the center console. The corvette is also equipped with a 8 inch touch screen angled towards the driver for immediate access. Equipped with three different seating options, GT1, GT2 and Competition Sport, you are sure to find a seat proportioned to your body type.

Chevrolet announced that the 2020 Corvette will be offered for sale starting under $60,000 when it arrives at dealerships in 2020. Here’s where it gets interesting. Chevrolet says the 2020 Stingray equipped with the Z51 Performance Package can run 0-60 mph in under 3 seconds. Quarter-mile and top speed figures for the 2020 Stingray haven’t been released yet, but an unrestricted speed close to 200 mph is likely.

Although the engine is in an unfamiliar place, the V-8 itself is pretty familiar. Dubbed the LT2, this engine’s fundamental geometry and most of its internals remain the same as the LT1’s. Its bore and stroke dimensions are unchanged, and the 11.5:1 compression ratio carries over. Sticking it in the middle of the car means the engine now breathes from the rear. Exhaust manifolds are stainless steel, and every C8 has a dry-sump lubrication system. Total output with the Performance exhaust is now 495 horsepower with 470 lb-ft of peak torque at 5150 rpm.

The base model C8 vette is off to a good start with 495 hp. However, we expect that power to go up significantly with the eventual debut of higher-trim models. 650 and 800 hp are figures we’ve heard most often for “mid-range” editions.

Trim Levels

The C8 vette will be offered in 3 distinct trim levels. The base configuration will be the FE1, built for the everyday driver, the FE3 which includes the Z51 Performance Package (including an electronic limited-slip differential, larger brake discs, and summer tires) but retains conventional shocks. The final trim is the FE4 which builds on the FE3 kit with the magic of magnetorheological adaptive dampers. Think of it as a ladder from easygoing to kind-of-awesome to gentlemen-start-your-engines.
